Fishing with Dad

The Last Name

Dad took his sons fishing the last week of June, 2007. Since Dad is in his dotage, some thought the trip would amount to four boys and no adult supervision. So Todd was to bring along his dog, Bailey, to fill the adult role. At the last minute, Bailey decided not to go, but he sent a couple of bottles of his Irish Creme in his place.
Jeff flew from Milwaukee to Florida and back to get
Dad. Andy flew from Washington, DC, and Todd drove his SUV from
Cincinnati. We loaded everything into Todd's
SUV. After a short nap, we left Milwaukee about 2:00 in the
morning and drove straight through to Snake Falls Camp. We arrived about
15 hours later.
| We got our gear unloaded and stowed in the cabin or the boat and it was still daylight. It was time to go fishing! Dad took a nap and sent us out to catch dinner. Todd caught the first fish; he had nowhere to go but up. Jeff is grinning because he caught the second fish. He used a minnow to hook another minnow about the same size. Andy snagged something on the bottom and pulled in the hook and line of a long-gone fisherman. |

| Jeff caught a nice walleye. It was a keeper, but he threw it back by mistake. We don't have a picture of the look on his face. OOPS!!! | |||

| The fishing rules say you can keep 4 Northern Pike and 4 Walleye. Northern must be less than 27 inches long or more than 35½ inches; anything in between must be released. Also, you can only have 1 Northern more than 35½ inches. Walleye can be any size, but you can have only 1 more than 18 inches long. |

| Back at the cabin, Dad relaxes while Jeff counts pills. Andy & Todd are taking pictures. Makes you wonder who is fixing dinner. |
